Free breakfast with Westin room registration. Opens at 6:30am on Weekdays 7am on Weekends.

There is also a Starbucks in the hotel. Open 6-10am.

Highly recommended by Chris but only open weekdays. Emily’s is in the office building attached to the Hilton – access is from the 2nd floor of the Hilton. Go past the gift shop towards Fairfax meeting room – turn right at the bottom of the ramp and through the double doors. Emily’s is on the left a few store fronts down. Limited seating on-site, but service is fast. Take-out available. Only the lunch menu is online. Stock up and put food in your room fridge.

Hilton Breakfast – Old Ox Grill

Open: 6:30-11am

1) Buffet ($22+)
2) Order off menu
3) Order from the Grill using QR code found on desk in your room. Allow 30 minutes or more before order is ready. Pick up in Old Ox Grill or brought to your room.

Open 24 hours 7 days a week.

A gas station/mini grocery store is an easy 5-6 minute walk from the Hilton. Turn right out of the Hilton parking lot, walk to the next cross street and you will see it to your right. 13840 McLearen Rd, Herndon, VA 20171 It is at the corner of McLearen Rd. and Towerview Rd. There is a traffic signal at the corner to make it easy to cross. Has fresh fruit and yogurt and a small grill for cooked to order breakfast items similar to what a McDonalds would have. Some seating available on-site with fast-food ambience.

Hilton Cardinal Pub

Open: 11:30am-1am

Order off the menu. Only seats 50 people so the wait can be long.

Order from Cardinal Pub using QR code found on desk in your room. Allow 30 minutes or more before order is ready. Pick up food in the Cardinal Pub. Hotel lobby is comfortable to sit in and outdoor seating available if the weather is nice.

You could have food delivered to the Hilton. The closest restaurants to the Hilton are south of McLearen off of Centreville Rd. – at Centreville Rd and Highland Mews Court in the McLearen Shopping Center. All are typical strip mall restaurants and affordable.

Some Delivery Options

Do not be tempted to try to find the Potomac Family Dining Group, it is a corporate office for Applebee’s. Also do not look for Uptown Café which is an employee-only dining facility for General Dynamics.

Grocery Stores

If you want to stock up there are a few nearby Grocery Stores.

Sheetz: Open 24 hours 7 days a week. A gas station/mini grocery store is an easy 5-6 minute walk from the Hilton.

Food Lion: McLearen Square shopping center. Closest Grocery store to the Hilton.

At the shopping centers at the interchange of Sully Road and US 50 there is a Costco and Target on the South West corner and a Walmart on the South East corner.

Transport Options

Both the Hilton and the Westin have free hotel shuttles from Dulles Airport and both leave from the same spot at the same time. They leave the airport at :15 and :45 after the hour from slots 2B and 2G on the lower level. Exit baggage claim from doors 2 or 6. Make sure you get the correct shuttle – Westin Washington Dulles or Hilton Washington Dulles. The white Hilton shuttle may have “hello” written in many languages or just have Hilton Washington Dulles on it. Make sure you get in the Westin Washington Dulles because more than one Westin van comes to this location. The shuttles depart their hotels for the airport on the hour and the half hour.

For those at the Westin, and those without cars at the Hilton who might want to go out somewhere, I highly recommend putting the Uber app on your phone.

You can schedule your pick-up time up to three months in advance, or with 40 minutes or more notice, you can schedule a pick-up.

It is between $9 and $12 to get picked up and taken from the Westin to the Hilton or vice versa via Uber. A little more for additional riders. A “normal” taxi cost about $20 for one person.

You do not have to create an account to use Uber and you pay for it on your phone.

If you are at the Westin and would like to meet someone new and get a ride over to the Hilton, please send an email with your cell # to lowflutesfestival@gmail.com and we will pass your contact info on to people who have said they would be willing to give rides.

If you REALLY want a free ride from the Westin to the Hilton or vice versa, you can take free shuttle back to the airport and then hope to catch the free Hilton Shuttle to the Hilton. The catch is that the shuttles essentially leave the airport at the same time, and if you miss the connection, you would have to wait another 30 minutes for the next one. But it would be free.
